Come Saturday 6th October 2018 at the Achimota Mall Accra, will witness leading telecommunication giants, Vodafone set to thrill patrons with their mega outdoor event dubbed ‘Vodafone Icons Rep Ur Hood’ edition with eight competent finalists.
The finalists are; Tina representing Kumasi-tech, Bogo Blay representing Tema, Verony representing Dansoman, Serwaa representing Tema, Evance representing Dansoman, A.A Smart from Takoradi and King Garo from Nima.
These contestants met the press and them their readiness to thrill patrons and judges on the night with their sterling performances at the Achimota Mall.
The unique dynamism of the TV reality show has set it apart from all others over the years and this year’s edition dubbed ‘Rep Your Hood’ sought to set the stage for contestants selected from extremely competitive auditions to represent and perform in their various localities.
The 11-episode journey witnessed thrilling yet tight performances from contestants across the country with the final 8 making it to the final stage.
In an interview, with External Communications Manager for Vodafone, Daniel Asiedu, explained that Accra has quite a number of representatives due to the massive turnout of contestants during auditions.
According to him, “it is an outdoor event” and contestants has performed outside from start to finish. He added that, voting closes on Friday, October 5, 2018, with the final show scheduled to be held at the Achimota mall on Saturday.
The finalists expressed great delight and confidence having gone through nerve-racking auditions from their various localities through to the final stage. They however remain highly optimistic about their chances of winning the GH¢100,000 prize package which includes “a bit of cash and a bit of management and record label”.
To them, the music reality show has been a life changing experience and they ask that their fans do justice to them by voting for them.
Vodafone Icons have thrilled patrons for about six years with several editions of the TV reality show, from the maiden edition (Diva’s edition), the Remix edition, the Street edition, High school edition and now the ‘Rep your hood edition’.
