A press statement released by the Ghana Police Service has revealed that two Ghanaian Reggae dancehall artistes [Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy] and one Nii Amo will be arraign before court in due time.
The just ended 20th edition of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards held at Accra International Conference Centre [AICC], witnessed a fracas between Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale on the night.
Known in real life as Livingstone Etse Satekla aka Stonebwoy, was adjudged on the night as the Reggae Dancehall Artistes of year by beating his rival Shatta Wale, Epixode and AK Songstress in that category.
“The two [Shatta Wale, and Stonebwoy], together with one other suspect, Nii Amoo, who was seen discharging pepper spray in the auditorium were all arrested yesterday 19th May 2019, placed in lawful custody and have been granted bail to be arraigned before court in due time,” 3rd paragraph of press release issued by Regional Public Affairs Unit, Ghana Police Service.
The never-ending turf war between dancehall artiste’s Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy escalated at this years’ Vodafone Ghana Music Awards after Stonebwoy pulled a gun on stage while receiving the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year Award.
The confusion started when Shatta Wale and his militants rushed onto the stage when Stonebwoy was about to receive his award.
Afraid of what could happen, Stonebwoy quickly pulled out a gun.
The security officials at the Dome started spraying the patrons of the award with pepper spray and the guests at the VIP stand were quickly rushed out.
The show was temporarily put on hold amidst the pandemonium in the Dome and some of the patrons started leaving the auditorium when the chaos started.
