Actor and politician John Dumelo believes that entertainers like him are needed in key political positions to transform the creative industry.
He said that the creative sector must have a voice during crucial political decisions.
In an interview on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, the National Democratic Congress’ Ayawaso West Wuogon parliamentary candidate said the support for entertainers within the political space is not enough.
‘Both governments…have put in some level of input. But I feel they are not doing that much. But I feel that by and large the level of input will increase’, John Dumelo said.
‘If you have people like myself, if you have other people in the Creative Arts industry getting into government it will help push the agenda’, he added.
John Dumelo also said that he will still feature in movies if he becomes a Member of Parliament.
