The event organizers known for chalking success when it comes to the event in the Hohoe municipality witnessed a total fiasco on January 2nd, 2018.
Speaking on Accra-based Zylofon FM, on the Showbiz Agenda with host Sammy Flex, Francis Yaw Asare who explained that he paid Ebony 35 thousand but did a part payment of 20 thousand, which on that faithful day the ‘Kupe’ hitmaker couldn’t make it.
According to him, after we made the part payment to Ebony, she recorded a voice note confirming her coming on January 2nd, 2018.
He affirmed that he [Francis] received a call that Ebony has been involved in an accident and can’t make it to the show.
After receiving the shocking news from Ruff Town records team, he [Francis] told the MC that the Maame Hw3 hitmaker won’t show so had to refund their 30gh cedis gate fee back to patrons.
He continued that, what hurts most is people travelled from far and near just to witness this concert due to our track record of every new year.
When asked by the host if his money has been refunded to him? He replied, yes they sent back my money to me but added that a lot of expenses went in and we have to settle this issue in court.
For his part, Ruff Town records owner Bullet explained that Ebony was sick and the contract indicated that if the artist is sick then the money is refundable, which we did send his money back.
She continued that, my artiste was sick and we have the doctors report indicating everything she was seriously sick but didn’t involve in an accident.
Bullet who happens to be a member of Ruff N Smooth added that his team had to cancel all the show in Accra and other regions and refunded event organizers moneys back to them.
He continued that, Ebony hasn’t been to Volta Region before and she was happy to be booked for a show on the night.
Bullet revealed that we played 4 shows in a day and we’ve learnt our mistake.
